BUTTE, N.D. — The driver killed in a crash near Butte, North Dakota, over the weekend has been identified.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol identified the driver killed in the crash late Saturday, Nov. 8, or early Sunday, Nov. 9, as 63-year-old Ward Knutson of Ruso.
Knutson was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 on North Dakota Highway 53 when he lost control of the vehicle, according to a Highway Patrol release. The car entered the south ditch, where the pickup rolled and came to rest on its driver’s side.
Knutson was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said. He was discovered dead at the scene of the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the Highway Patrol. Butte is about 50 miles southeast of Minot.
