NATIONWIDE — From the food to decorations to seeing beloved family, Thanksgiving can be an exciting time for many around the U.S.
But for furry family members accustomed to the quiet and routine of every day, the holiday season can look different, or even cause stress.
Here are some tips released by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to keep pets safe so that everyone enjoys this holiday season.
Just one bite
While sticking to a pet's normal diet on Thanksgiving is recommended, sometimes owners can't help but want to share in the festivites with them. If you do decide to let your pet enjoy some of the meal, a small bite of turkey — or other meat that is boneless and fully cooked — is a great way to share the spirit, according to ASPCA.
