The colorful northern lights could be on display again the night of Wednesday, Nov. 12, in New York.

But in the mid-Hudson Valley, clouds and even a little rain might interfere with the view.

The National Weather Service forecasts offer varying degrees of hope, depending on the county in which one lives.

In Orange County, the forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies.

In Sullivan and Ulster counties, in addition to mostly cloudy skies there is a slight chance of showers.

But in Ulster County, after the showers, it will be "mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear" on Nov. 12.

And in Dutchess County, the weather service says it will be "cloudy during the early evening, then gradually clearing."

But if skies do clear, mid-Hudson residents could get a chance to see the northern ligh
