A murder investigation is underway after the body of a missing Greenock man was found in a field in Kilmacolm .
On the morning of November 11 at around 9.20am police were called to a report of a body found within a field near High Mathernock Farm. The man has since been formally identified as 50-year-old Robert Best, who was reported missing from Greenock on the same day - his family are aware.
Two men, aged 44 and 51, have been arrested and charged in connection with Robert’s death. The pair appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court today, November 12.
A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection with assault and released pending further enquiries.
