NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Officers who received top honors from Mothers Against Drunk Driving for their DUI enforcement records also arrested sober people for driving under the influence, a WSMV4 investigation found.

Two officers received some of MADD’s highest honors for the number of DUI arrests made each year, but later had cases dismissed when blood tests showed the arrested individuals had no alcohol or drugs in their systems.

Trooper William Yates Matoy, a bronze DUI enforcement award winner, and Rutherford County Deputy Zach Williams, named a top enforcer, both arrested people whose blood work later showed they were legally able to drive.
