PORTLAND, Ore. — Democrats in Oregon's congressional delegation have been fiercely critical of an emerging deal to end the federal government shutdown, but U.S. Rep. Val Hoyle appears to have gone a step further and joined a handful of other federal lawmakers who are calling for Sen. Chuck Schumer to be replaced as Senate Minority Leader after seven Democrats , joined by one Independent, broke ranks to allow the funding bill to pass the Senate .
In a post Tuesday afternoon on her campaign account on X, formerly Twitter, Hoyle wrote , "As a proud 3rd generation union member, I've walked a lot of picket lines and been part of supporting my union leadership in negotiations. If my leadership caved after a 40 day strike and got nothing in return, they would be voted out immediately."
