The game of the year in New Mexico arrives early this season.
The Aggies (2-0) face rival New Mexico (3-0) at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at home. It will be one of the earliest points of the season that the two in-state foes have faced each other at, as it'll be NM State's third game and UNM's fourth.
Aggies coach Jason Hooten said in a press conference on Wednesday, Nov. 12 press conference that while it's a negative to play a rivalry game this early, a positive is that NM State students get to show up without being held back by Thanksgiving break or final exams.
"You can take the good and bad out of every situation," Hooten said. "Good is the fact that we tried to play this game when we knew our students would be here.
The Aggies defeated the Lobos last season in an 89-83 overtime
