When it came time to choose a career path, Dr. Sumbul Desai says her father gave her two choices: doctor or engineer. The current vice-president of Health at Apple tried her hand at both — she entered a six-year undergraduate medical program, then switched her major to engineering one year later — but ultimately chose to pursue a career in media after graduation.
