SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The House is voting Wednesday on reopening the federal government, with some members concerned about a provision that would prohibit the sale of certain hemp products.

Members on both sides of the aisle have issues with language in a provision around hemp. The provision would eliminate the loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill, which defined hemp as excluded from the federal definition of marijuana and legalized the farming and selling of hemp.

The main argument for the provision is to stop “bad actors” from selling unsafe THC products.
