Bihar has recorded the highest voter turnout in state elections since 1951, as 66.91% voters exercised their franchise to elect the 243-member Assembly. The voter turnout 9.6 percentage points more than the last assembly polls.

The state also recorded the highest female voter turnout in its history.

On November 11, Bihar completed voting for two-phased elections, and the state witnessed a record-breaking turnout of nearly 69% in the second and final phase of assembly polls.

The results will be declared on November 14, and it will decide whether Nitish Kumar, the JD(U) president and the longest serving Chief Minister, secures yet another tenure or his former deputy Tejashwi Yadav takes charge.
