A popular children’s toy is being urgently recalled after asbestos was detected.
People are urged to immediately stop using 1.3kg packages of colourful sand from brands Kadink, Educational Colours and 1kg packages of sand from Creatistics.
A laboratory found samples contained tremolite asbestos — a naturally occurring form — in the product sold online and nationally at Officeworks , Educating Kids, Modern Teaching Aids and Zart Art between January 1, 2020 and October 31, 2025.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a recall notice on Wednesday.
“We urge customers who own any of the products to stop using them immediately and place the sand in a heavy-duty plastic bag and double tape it securely and keep it out of reach of children,” ACCC deputy chair Catri
