WASHINGTON (WCAX) - Vermont Representative Becca Balint and New Hampshire Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander are expected to vote against a bill that could end the longest government shutdown in history.
House Speaker Mike Johnson has predicted they’ll pass the bill on Wednesday night and send it to the president’s desk for his signature.
Goodlander, who stands apart from Sens. Hassan and Shaheen on the issue , said she’s leading legislation that would prevent any future government shutdowns.
“We’ve got bipartisan legislation that needs to continue to proceed forward. And that’s what I’m focused on doing -- keeping the government open and preventing a full-blown health care meltdown,” said Goodlander, D-New Hampshire.
