NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (KALB) - A correctional officer who was working at the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Parish Detention Center has been accused of theft and malfeasance in office, according to the Natchitoches Police Department.
NPD shared that on November 11, around 1:39 p.m., officers were notified of a theft that occurred earlier in the week at the detention center. An inmate claimed they were missing money from their property when they were released.
NPD said a review of security cam footage revealed Correctional Officer Moesha Collier removing property from an inmate’s currency bag and placing it into her pocket.
She was placed in the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Detention Center. Malfeasance in office is a felony, and she is subject to not more than ten years
