The executive committee of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) met virtually for its November meeting on Wednesday.
Among the biggest topics of discussion were eligibility of athletes staying with host families, a clarification on postseason disqualifications, the approval of co-ops for the winter and spring seasons and two legal cases where courts ruled in favor of the NJSIAA.
Bylaws get updated with language on host families
The executive committee voted unanimously with two abstentions on Wednesday to amend the organization’s bylaws regarding student athletes who live with a host family while their parents/guardians reside elsewhere.
