AKRON, OH — An intoxicated man reportedly armed with a gun was shot by a police officer Tuesday night after he allegedly pointed the weapon at multiple people during a chaotic scene in a parking lot on Albrecht Avenue, authorities said.

The incident unfolded around 9:03 p.m. in the 2700 block of Albrecht Avenue, where Akron Police officers were dispatched in response to a fight. Witnesses told officers that a man in the parking lot was drunk and waving a firearm, allegedly aiming it at bystanders.
