TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - It’s a fun time to be a part of the Lowndes High School football team. The Vikings, a two seed in the AAAAAA state playoffs. Camen Upshaw is a new part, but a big part, of a Lowndes defense that’s giving less than two touchdowns a game.
He was a standout at St. John Paul II in Tallahassee. Entering his senior year, the Panther program folded, and Upshaw made the decision to transfer to Lowndes.
“It was a big shock finding out we weren’t going to have a team anymore,” he said. “I had to stay calm and think everything through.”
“He’s jumped in, he’s bought in to what we do, and he’s been a great addition,” added Lowndes head football coach Adam Carter.
Somewhere one may argue, he was always meant to be.
