Having split two games with Cohasset during the regular season, there were no surprises for the Sandwich High School girls’ soccer team in their second-round MIAA Division 4 state tournament game against the Skippers. The Blue Knights knew exactly what to expect out of the Skippers as the two fought for a trip to the Elite Eight.

Fifth-ranked Cohasset ended the Lady Knights' excellent season in the second round of the state tourney with a 2-0 win on their home field, taking the rubber match between the two former league rivals. Coho had won the first game of the season by a 3-0 score during the opening week. Sandwich had come back to win on their home field about a month later by a 3-1 score.
