Dan Gilbert's real estate firm Bedrock and General Motors Co.'s plan to redevelop downtown Detroit's Renaissance Center is set to get as much as $75 million in local taxpayer dollars.
Members of the Downtown Development Authority on Wednesday voted unanimously in favor of the grant, Downtown Detroit Partnership CEO Eric Larson said. The deal allows Bedrock to request reimbursement for public aspects of the development until 2033, with a cap of $75 million.
