Nearing the OHL season’s one-third mark, Soo Greyhounds general manager Kyle Raftis has plenty to weigh.
Injuries, special teams, trades, and lineup tweaks have all shaped the early months of the season — and while there’s reason for optimism, there’s also plenty of room for growth.
The 12-8-1-0 Greyhounds, fifth in the Western Conference, are entering a three-game road swing after closing out a trio of home games that yielded only two of a possible six points. It wasn’t a disaster, but it wasn’t the stretch they were hoping would launch them into November either.
The upcoming trip will take them through three of the Western Conference’s top four standing teams in Windsor, Kitchener, and London. Those first two are ranked No. 3 and 7 in the CHL’s top 10. Not exactly a cake walk.
