SALT LAKE CITY — The northern lights were seen across Utah Tuesday night, and are expected to return Wednesday night if the timing is right, according to KSL meteorologist Matt Johnson.
The solar storm is headed for Earth right now, but its arrival may coincide with the sunset tonight, according to Johnson.
This could mean that the storm won’t be visible because the sun will block it. If the solar flares can hang on through the sunset hours, it may be visible right after sunset, according to Johnson.
