CLEVELAND — We're beginning to separate the wheat from the chaff here.
Through two rounds of the Ohio high school football playoffs, 34 teams from WKYC's 17-county viewing area remain in contention for state championships across seven different divisions. It's mostly been chalk so far as a number of local schools look to live up to their status as title favorites, however others from around the region still have a chance to shock the world with some massive upsets.
Now it's time for the regional semifinals this Friday night, and unlike previous years, the games will be played at the higher seeds' home stadiums rather than neutral sites. It's a boost some teams could definitely use, though whether or not they will take advantage remains to be seen.
