MIDDLETON, Wis. (WKOW) — Visit Middleton's annual "Keeping Neighbors Warm" clothing drive set a new record this year by collecting 939 winter outerwear items, surpassing last year's total of 699.

“I’m overwhelmed by the support from this community in helping set a new record with their generous donations,” said Laura Portz, the campaign’s coordinator.

The drive took place from Oct. 15 to Nov. 5 with drop-off points at various locations, including Keva Sports Center and Middleton Public Library. Donations included winter coats, snow pants, and other essential gear for all ages, which were distributed by WayForward Resources.

“With the chilly weather coming, everyone in our community needs winter gear to stay warm,” said Ellen Carlson, executive director for WayForward Resources.
