NewsNation anchor Leland Vittert was visibly frustrated during a discussion with White House trade advisor Peter Navarro on America’s affordability crisis.
On Wednesday’s episode of “ On Balance with Leland Vittert ,” the host read an email to Navarro that he received from a Trump voter named Alice: “Feelings don’t matter. Prices in the grocery store do. My bread has risen 50 cents this year. Hamburger is now $8 a pound on sale. It was $4.00 a pound of sale last year. I call that a hundred per cent increase."
In response, Navarro said President Donald Trump and the White House “feels your pain.”
Vittert quickly interjected.
“But the president calls it a ‘con job,’ ” he said, citing Trump’s claim Republicans “ have done great on affordability. ”
