Saturday is the day when the Southern Zone firearm season gets underway. This day will easily see the most hunters out in the woods per square mile versus any other day of the year. This is also the day that will see the single-most amount of unnatural deer movement as well. Now, I have taken my fair share of good bucks on opening day, and they have all been late morning to early afternoon. The best day for an all-day sit is, no doubt, opening day and Sunday.
As of right now, the weather is looking quite promising, cold but promising. Sunny, with morning temperatures starting off in the lower 20s and topping out in the high 30s, to low 40s. A relatively calm day with 15 mph winds out of the West will ease that chill just a bit. A rather comfortable day if dressed properly.
