No one can compete with the number of holiday movies Hallmark Channel churns out each year, but Netflix has seriously stepped up its Christmas content lately.

The streaming platform’s first original movie of the season is “A Merry Little Ex-Mas,” which premiered on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Alicia Silverstone stars as Kate, a woman trying to have one last magical Christmas in her family home before moving to Boston to pursue her dream job.

Kate and her husband Everett (Oliver Hudson) are newly separated but committed to keeping things amicable for their two kids, college student Sienna (Emily Hall) and high school senior Gabriel (Wilder Hudson). Things get a little messy when Everett brings his new girlfriend, Tess (Jameela Jamil), around for the holidays.
