DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport woman faces an arson charge after police say she set a flower bed on fire at her parents’ home, then added fuel to the blaze.
Officers responding to a 7:44 p.m. Tuesday domestic call in the 2100 block of North Nevada Avenue found Nichole L. Gress, 42, according to court documents. Police said Gress lived there with her parents.
She allegedly broke items, pushed and threatened her mother inside the house before starting the fires, which scorched and warped the home’s siding, police said.
A witness reported to police seeing Gress add fuel to the fire.
When officers arrived, they said they found her sitting near the smoldering fire.
Damage is estimated at $1,500.
Gress is charged with:
First-degree arson, a Class B felony
Third-degree criminal misc
