MANCHESTER, Conn. (WFSB) - The family of a Manchester man allegedly killed by an Uber Eats driver in March has filed a lawsuit claiming the company failed to properly vet the driver who was operating an unregistered and uninsured vehicle at the time of the crash.
Jaime Antonio Cordero, 45, was struck and killed on the evening of March 24 while walking across Buckland Hills Drive in Manchester. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, according to police.
The lawsuit, filed by the law firm Morgan & Morgan, alleges that an 18-year-old Uber Eats delivery driver was traveling “well above the speed limit” and operating an unregistered, uninsured vehicle with a nonfunctioning fog light.
