An idea calling to create a Street Parking Fee Waiver Voucher Program to support residential property owners and tenants to provide parking for tradespeople has been pushed back from Perth administrators.
The motion put forward by Councillor Liam Gobbert in August called for the establishment of the fee waiver program and for the chief executive officer to present to council an overview of cost, integration with city systems, application process and eligibility criteria as part of the Annual 2026/27 Budget process.
In Cr Gobbert’s reasons he identified the variety of single and multi-unit dwelling typologies across the city but said that not all residential properties have service and/or visitor bays and where they are provided can often be in high use.
