ROCKLAND — After less than two days of deliberation, the trial of Aziayh Scott ended in a mistrial.

Scott is charged with manslaughter for his alleged involvement in the May 2024 death of a 22-month-old boy.

The Attorney General’s Office said they plan to retry the case.

“The state is confident that Mr. Scott was the person who caused the catastrophic liver laceration to Quayshawn (Wilson) and that he is responsible for his death. And so we will be retrying this case,” said Assistant Attorney General Leanne Robin.

In June 2024, Scott was extradited to Maine from Louisiana, where he was arrested after the 22-month-old was found unresponsive in a Walmart parking lot in Thomaston.
