SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas — Texas Game Wardens recovered the body of a man from the Trinity River south of Lake Livingston Dam on Tuesday afternoon, three days after he disappeared while trying to rescue two teenage boys from an overturned kayak.

Texas Game Wardens from Polk County recovered the two boys Sunday evening. The search for Poff continued over multiple days.
San Jacinto County Sheriff Sam Houston called the incident “an unimaginable tragedy.”
