Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said the House would vote on the release of documents related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein next week.

Democrats have pushed for the release of files related to Epstein after the issue emerged as a wedge between President Donald Trump and many of his supporters. A bipartisan bill from Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) was required to hit the floor of the House after a discharge petition reached 218 signatures, but Johnson had leeway for when to put it to a vote. On Wednesday, Johnson said he would expedite a full vote on the full release of the files next week.
