The House of Representatives has passed the funding bill, moving closer to the end of the government shutdown, with a final vote of 222-209.

The bill will now go to President Donald Trump, who is reportedly scheduled to sign it Wednesday night.

The House approved a procedural step, which is a rule for debate that would reopen the government.

The House was called to order this afternoon.

Congressman Tim Burchett (R-TN) called for immediate consideration of Congressman Ro Khanna’s Epstein bill.

The acting Speaker of the House blocked the request on procedural grounds.

The House went immediately into debate on the continuing resolution to fund the government.
