Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver's North Shore and northeast sections, as well as for Howe Sound.
The forecaster said that up to 60 millimetres of rain is expected to fall starting Wednesday night and continuing until Thursday night.
It attributes the high rainfall to a slow-moving, Pacific frontal system that's making its way across B.C.'s South Coast.
"Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas," the forecaster's warning reads.
"Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas such as steep slopes, deforested areas or recent burn scars."

In addition to the rainfall warning in Metro Vancouver, a snowfall warning has been issued for the Williston regio
