Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jaire Alexander is stepping away from the NFL, according to reports.
Alexander, 28, hasn’t officially retired, but will “try to focus on getting himself right physically and mentally before deciding on his future,” Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer first reported.
The Eagles placed Alexander on the reserve/retired list on Wednesday.
Alexander’s hiatus from football comes just over a week after he was traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the Eagles on Nov. 1. The Eagles traded a 2026 sixth-round draft pick in exchange for Alexander and a 2026 seventh-round pick.
Alexander, a two-time Pro Bowler, signed with Baltimore in June on a one-year contract worth up to $6 million. He recorded five tackles in two games played for the Ravens before being traded.
