A dynasty was born Wednesday afternoon for North Hunterdon.
After having its three-year reign of championships snapped last season, the Lions got revenge, securing their fourth sectional championship in five years.
Top-seeded North Hunterdon, No. 15 in the NJ.com Top 20, defeated second-seeded Chatham, No. 14, in a thrilling 5-3 match in the final round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 3 playoffs in Annandale.
North Hunterdon head coach Amy Masters shared her emotions after the match.
“I’m so happy for the 20 players that come out here every day. Our coaching staff has been working tirelessly since the beginning of July to make this happen.”
“It was all about the ‘we’ versus ‘me’ mindset. We’re completely focused on everyone, whether they get on the field or not.”
