CHEYENNE — In preparing to celebrate 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, Wyomingites are also celebrating their own role in American life as it is today, particularly the state’s influence on law.

Throughout the day on Wednesday, in honor of the nation’s Semiquincentennial celebration in 2026, the Wyoming Supreme Court held four oral arguments in the Historic Supreme Court Chamber in the state Capitol.

The event opened the doors to the public to see the work of the court, and included a special presentation from the Cheyenne League of Women Voters detailing the history of Wyoming judges and lawyers, and the state’s judicial legacy.
