And those doors will remain closed for six months - or possibly longer.

The reason for the closure is to allow for construction work to start on the nearby North Wollongong sea wall.

At Monday night's Wollongong City Council meeting, councillors will consider extending the current owner's lease for another five years.

The council papers also mentioned the necessary closure of Diggies cafe and the kiosk.
