Death Stranding , which is one of the most divisive video game franchises in recent years, is set to be adapted as a Disney+ series. The first game and its sequel were created by prolific video game developer Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions.

At Disney's Asia Pacific originals content showcase in Hong Kong, Kojima surprised the audience with his appearance and announced that he is working on an all-animated Death Stranding series coming to Disney+ in 2027.
