CRYSTAL, Minn — A conference room-turned-evidence room at the Crystal Police Department is filled with decades of stolen items.

"From what I understand, this stuff dates back from the 1980s until 2022," said Crystal Police Investigator TJ Tourville. "Based on the numbers provided to me, it's about $390,000 worth of stolen merchandise."

Everything from a zebra fur, paintings, and sculptures, to expensive men's wallets and a snowboard -- all taken from the home of Jerry Saliterman -- one of the most prolific thieves in Minnesota history.

"I'd put him at the top," Tourville said.

Because he planned the state's most famous heist -- the Wizard of Oz ruby slippers.
