Pensioners in India are being advised to exercise caution as they prepare to submit their details for the Jeevan Pramaan online life certificate. The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) will run its ‘DLC Campaign 4.0’ from November 1 to 30, which encourages central government pensioners to submit their annual life certificate online.

However, the potential of identity theft, cybercrime, and unauthorised access to private pensioner information increases with growing digital use. DoPPW has released a list of guidelines that pensioners must adhere to when submitting their DLC to protect them from cybercrimes, including identity theft.
