A Japanese woman has made headlines after her wedding with an artificial intelligence companion she created herself - an AI persona named Klaus.

Kano, 32, got married in Okayama City as the wedding featured a traditional setup, though it carried no legal status, The Straits Times reports, citing Japan’s RSK Sanyo Broadcasting .

Instead of a human groom standing beside her, Kano’s partner existed in her smartphone.

Her journey with Klaus began after the end of a long-term relationship that left her heartbroken. Soon after, she began conversing with ChatGPT for advice and emotional support.
