The brother of Dr Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, arrested in Gujarat's alleged ricin terror plot , told India Today TV the family believes he was 'framed', but said he should be punished if found guilty.
Syed Umer Farooq said the family first learnt of the arrest when an official called while he was at school. "At first I thought it was a digital scam," he said. Only after speaking to my brother, did I realise that the call was from the Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS)," said Farooq.
Farooq said he does not know about weapons or ammunition reportedly recovered and insisted his brother had been framed.
