OROVILLE, Calif. — An Oroville family business is striving to bounce back after a fire destroyed their food truck on Friday morning. The unfortunate event unfolded just one day after the Gomez family proudly opened their second food truck.

"I started like smelling something was burning," said Giovanni Gomez, the owner of Tacos El Mariachi and Sazon a la Mexicana food trucks.

Gomez says he saw flames coming down the walls of his food truck, Tacos El Mariachi.

By the time he saw the flames, though, it was too late to do anything but evacuate.

“I immediately turned off the propane tanks, and then went inside again to check out what’s going on, and the whole roof was on fire.”

As he waited for firefighters to arrive, Gomez watched his dream go up in flames.
