A 46-year-old man has been found guilty of raping a child under the age of 10 and indecently dealing with another in Western Australia's far north.

The Broome District Court trial began on Tuesday , with Patrick Joseph Hunter pleading not guilty to four charges of indecent dealing with a child under 13 and one charge of sexual penetration of a child under 13.

The jury found Hunter guilty on all five counts.

Hunter audibly sighed when the verdict was handed down.

"You're racist, I've got family of my own," he said.

"I hope you all burn in hell … I didn't do them things, man."

The court heard Hunter's two victims were both aged 10 or under.

The offences occurred in a remote community between April 2019 and October 2020.
