A loud bang in Mahipalpur, southwest Delhi, caused panic among residents on Thursday morning. The sound, which was initially feared to be an explosion, was later confirmed to be a bus tyre burst. This incident occurred just days after a deadly blast near the Red Fort that killed 13 people, raising concerns among locals.
The Delhi Fire Services received a call at 9:19 am about the loud noise near the Radisson Hotel. In response, three fire tenders were dispatched to the scene. However, after thorough checks, no evidence of an explosion was found.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel stated, "The caller was contacted. He said that while he was on the way to Gurugram, a loud noise was heard. We checked everything and nothing was found." During the investigation, a security guard reported that the sound originated from the rear tyre of a DTC bus heading towards Dhaula Kuan.
The police reassured the public, saying, "The situation is normal and there is nothing to worry about." This incident highlights the heightened alertness in the capital following the recent Red Fort explosion, which has led to increased security measures across the city.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure public safety and maintain order in the area.
