Chandigarh : Punjab Police have taken swift and stern action after a Punjab Police vehicle, part of a VIP convoy, collided with the car of retired Lieutenant General DS Hooda on the Zirakpur–Ambala stretch. Treating the matter seriously, DGP Yadav has ordered an immediate inquiry led by Special DGP Traffic Police, AS Rai, and introduced new operational guidelines to prevent such incidents in the future.
In a statement shared on his official social media handle, DGP Yadav reiterated that the Punjab Police, as a professional force, follows a zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct. He emphasised that police duty extends beyond protecting VIPs to ensuring public safety, dignity, and confidence on the roads.
