THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a possibility of heavy rains in the state today. Yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta Isolated heavy rains are predicted. Heavy rain is defined as rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that light rains are likely in Pathanamthitta and Idukki of Kerala in the next three hours. Fishing has been banned on the Kerala-Lakshadweep coast today and there is no restriction on fishing on the Karnataka coast, informed the IMD.
Strong winds with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and at times 55 kmph and bad weather are likely on the south Kerala-Lakshadweep coast.
