Pakistan’s leading English daily, Dawn, became the centre of a social media buzz after it accidentally published an AI prompt in a business news story. The incident occurred on November 12, 2025, in a report titled “Auto sales rev up in October.”
The article, which discussed the rise in automobile sales across Pakistan, ended with an unusual line, “If you want I can also create an even snappier front-page style version with punchy one-line stats and a bold, infographic-ready layout perfect for maximum reader impact. Do you want me to do that next?”
The sentence appeared to be an internal instruction from an AI editor, accidentally left in the final published copy.
Although the digital version of the article was quickly corrected, screenshots of the original print edition went viral. The
