Police in Newark are investigating an early morning collision in the city’s West Ward that left one person injured Thursday.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Abinger Place and Norwood Street shortly before 3:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash.

When officers and firefighters arrived, they located two vehicles that had collided near the intersection.

One individual was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police secured both vehicles and began a preliminary investigation at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
