TRAVERSE CITY — Local utility customers will want to keep a closer eye on their power use as the city-owned utility transitions to new “time-of-use” billing rates starting in December.
Traverse City Light & Power customers are being shifted to a new rate structure starting next month that will charge higher rates for electricity during “peak” daytime hours, and lower rates for electricity used during the evening and overnight.
